  • Starting in January I started the Behavioral Teach position at South-West Middle School. I took data on 5 students closely monitoring their behavior.
  • EX: How many times a child eloped, swore, noncompliance to direction and work, hitting, bitting, self harm (smacking themselves, pinching themselves, etc).
  • Some days depending on how the children were I would do 1:1 with a child where I would follow one specific child around all day and assist them in anyway possible.
  • I would attend specials (gym, art, music, etc) and lunch with the children building great rapport with students I was required to take data on as well as students who I did NOT.
  • Every week I take the data that was being recored and updated everyones file for the BCBA to look over.
  • Engaged children in play activities that promoted language development, motor skills, self-help skills, cognitive functioning.
  • Occasionally I would deescalate situations and/or have to use restraints.
  • Provided verbal reinforcement to encourage positive behaviors in clients.
  • Ensured safety of all individuals at the facility by following established protocols and procedures.
