In my current role, I perform maintenance, calibration, quality control, and patient sample testing according to policy and procedure, across Hematology and Chemistry, as well as some Microbiology and Blood Bank.

• Operated and maintained laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.

• Conducted laboratory tests to analyze patient samples for accurate diagnosis.

I worked in the Microbiology department during my time at Hartford Hospital where I gained experience in:

• Utilized molecular diagnostic techniques for the detection and characterization of pathogens.
• Plating various sample types to different growth media for cultures.
• Proper incubation temperatures.
• Plate reading to identify pathogens based on known growth patterns
• Instrumentation such as MALDI-TOF, Biofire, Phoenix, Panther, etc
• Cultivated, isolated or assisted in identifying microbial organisms or performing various tests on microorganisms.
