As someone who has been working since the early age of 13, I've built up enough confidence to believe that no matter where I choose to work, I will always find a way to become an asset to my workplace, and I am always determined to work to the best of my ability no matter how small or large the task may be.. not because my job asks me to, but because hard work is a detrimental part of who I am as an individual. I also am always open to learning new skills and growing in any way I can.
My employment at Planet fitness is probably one of my more favorable work experiences. This is my first OFFICIAL leadership role, and it introduced me to a new aspect of a workplace. management. At planet fitness I also have to play multiple roles ranging from accounting, to sales, to maintenance, to organization, as well as help maintain a judgment free, respectful environment for both employees and club members while providing exceptional customer service- no matter how complicated some of the personalities here may be.
My employment at Target was all about discipline and determination. I worked early mornings and overnight shifts unloading heavy merchandise from delivery trucks as well as organizing and supplying the sales floor. With minimal customer interaction during my shifts, this job was all about heavy physical labor and constantly moving with a sense of urgency. I grew to love the chaos of this job as well as the connections I built with my team- it felt like working with family rather than coworkers.
Working at Oreilly's auto parts was something new for me, working there was all about stepping out of my comfort zone and working in a new environment. As someone who was never too educated on cars working here was all about learning. I was able to apply lessons from my past work experience to be a reliable employee and exceptional car part salesman - even with the limited knowledge of cars I had prior to working there. My employment here emphasized my ability to adapt to new environments and be efficient in new industries.
Working at Walmart showed me the value of being efficient in multiple roles- whether I was at a register, customer service, handling general merchandise, working with produce, or even operating as a fuel attendant. I set a new standard of adaptability for myself, in being able to work efficiently in different roles helped me become one of the most reliable employees in my workplace.
As a seasonal employee at Charlotte Russe, I worked there temporarily to help my mother who at the time was the general manager; she showed me the ropes of what the day to day operations as a leader looked like, which aided me in future manager experience I gained and showed the value of consistency, routine, urgency, and finding a balance in the workplace of both being able to uphold a respectful and fun environment while not losing a single drop of ambition.
During my tenure at KFC I learned how to efficiently work under pressure in stressful environments while simultaneously focusing on multiple tasks- From cash transactions, to taking and preparing orders, to maintaining the cleanliness of the lobby, kitchen, and restrooms all while providing exceptional customer service that met company standards.
