
Current practice as a certified registered nurse anesthetist at a community based hospital providing evidence base patient-centered perioperative care to a wide variety of complex patient populations. Prior to nurse anesthesia training, five years of advanced nursing practice as a critical care nurse practitioner and three years as a direct patient care registered nurse.
● Develop anesthesia care plans and provide patient care as a member of a multidisciplinary team
● Responsible for preoperative evaluation, induction, maintenance, and emergence of anesthesia
● Educated on pharmacological management and mechanical management strategies necessary for safe patient care during the perioperative period
● Clinical student nurse anesthesia coordinator for Boston College and Northeastern University
● Worked collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care in cardiovascular, surgical, and medical intensive care units
● Managed acute and chronic comorbid conditions in the acute inpatient setting
● Evaluated diagnostic laboratory tests and medical images in order to guide treatment plans
● Trained new nurse practitioners in patient management in the acute care setting using current evidence base practice recommendations
● Collaborated with a multidisciplinary team on an inpatient medicine and 34-bed medical intensive care unit to provide high quality patient-family centered care
● Management of acutely ill patient populations including gastrointestinal bleeds, acute respiratory failure, septic shock, drug overdoses, and acute renal and liver failure
● Educated new nurses on evidence based protocols as both a preceptor and resource nurse
