After school, I would stay in the Academic Center to peer tutor students who came in for extra help or to study for tests and quizzes.
I volunteered as a camp counselor at Camp Sunshine, which is a camp for children who have cancer.
I applied to this program offered at my school, and after being accepted, a select group of students and I spent the entire year learning about the Holocaust and Jewish culture. We read novels, visited with a Holocaust survivor, experienced a Passover Seder, and much more. Then in the summer, we took a 10-day trip to Poland that culminated in our visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.
I spent a week in New Jersey working 8-hour days to repair and paint a school.
I started my own dog-walking business for people in my neighborhood. I would walk dogs every week depending on what their owners wanted me to do. I would also dog-sit for them if needed.
