• Provides post anesthesia care of patients, following operative and invasive procedures; maintains a thorough and complete record of each patient's recovery.
• Safely discharges patients from facility, using policies and criteria defined Anesthesia Dept. and PACU. • Assessing patients in pre-op; documenting vital signs, starting IV's, administering pre-op medications ordered by Surgeons and Anesthesia Dept.
• Administering and calculating medication dosages: PO, SC, IM, and IV.
• Monitoring IV sites, rates, additives; change tubing and solutions.
• Demonstrates a developing leadership role by accepting the role of charge nurse.
• Promotes self-management and assists family members or friends in caring for their loved ones.
• Assess patient health problems and needs, develop, and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records.
• Administering and calculating medication dosages: PO, SC, IM, and IV.
• Monitoring IV sites, rates, additives; change tubing and solutions.
• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.
