  • Maintenance of hospital facilities, equipment and enclosures, including but not limited to cleaning and disinfection.
  • Provide smooth communication by serving as liaison between veterinarians, nurses, front desk staff, managers and owners/clients re: scheduling, hospital policies, services provided and pricing.
  • Provide client education on prophylactic patient care or medical concerns, escalate questions to veterinarian's attention for further assistance to ensure best possible in-person and virtual health care.
  • Prepare for and assist during soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures, monitor anesthesia and post-surgical recovery for patients. Intubate patients to protect airway during surgery and place intravenous catheters. Obtain dental radiographs and perform dental cleaning.
  • Calculate, administer and maintain logs of medications, including controlled substances.
  • Maintain surgical equipment, sterile surgical environment, up-keep instruments and hospital supplies. Monitor and restock inventory as needed.
  • Train new staff members, support colleagues and offer help where needed during busy and short-staffed shifts.
  • Provide pet parents with information on international travel with their pets, assist owners and veterinarians with fulfilling necessary medical requirements and document preparation for United States Department of Agriculture.
  • Perform Day Lead position by assigning roles to staff members and maintaining flow of the day, pitching in where needed and helping set up the team for successful day.
