- Primary duties included management of th thoracic surgery and urology service at Saint Anne's Hospital. This included first assist and admission, daily rounding and discharge for each service. I was also responsible for any urology consultations in the hospital and later took on outpatient hours at the urology clinic across the street from the hospital.
- Assisted physicians during surgeries and other medical procedures to treat patients appropriately and safely.
- For urology this included: laparoscopic nephrectomy, laparoscopic adrenalectomy, radical prostatectomy, pyeloplasty/ureteroplasty, Interstim bladder implant, transobturator sling, adult circumcision, orchiectomy, observation many TURP, TURBT, retrograde pyelograms, URS laser lithotripsy/stone extraction stent placement, cystoscopies.
- For thoracic surgery this included: open thoracotomy / lobectomy, lymph node dissection, VATS with pulmonary wedge resection, mechanical pleurodesis, drainage of pleural effusion, bronchoscopy, mediastinoscopy, tracheoscotomy.
- Procedures performed for urology service while inpatient included routine and difficult catheter changes, manual catheter irrigations, CBI management, SPT change, ureteral stent removal, nephrotostomy tube removal, dressing changes.
