My name is Leena Mustafa. I am a 21-year-old Muslim woman from Egypt and the oldest of four siblings. From a young age, I took on a significant role in caring for my brothers and sisters. At just 16 years old, I traveled alone with them from Egypt to the United States—a journey that lasted nearly 20 hours—and became responsible for many of their daily needs. I handled cooking, helped with homework and reading, assisted with showers, taught manners, and supported them in their activities. While I’ve been involved in their care for many years, I took on full responsibility for a full year, managing everything on a daily basis.
I genuinely love working with kids and have a wide range of experience. In addition to being a hands-on older sister, I’ve worked as a teacher’s assistant for 4th graders and have babysat children from 6 months old to teenagers. I’m experienced in diaper changing, children’s nutrition, and planning age-appropriate developmental activities. I also have a passion for cooking and baking. At age 20, I was fully responsible for preparing daily meals for a family of five.
