Fire Lieutenant

Promoted to Acting Fire Lieutenant on June 22, 2013, then Permanent Fire Lieutenant on March 14, 2014, for a total of over 10 years experience as a company officer.


First Woman promoted in the history of Falmouth Public Safety.


Supervise Firefighters in basic station duties such as daily apparatus and vehicle checks, equipment maintenance, housework, and other pertinent activities.


Oversees the daily and monthly training of Firefighters and maintaining of the training records.


Assists the Captain in their duties when needed, including checking reports and other pertinent activities at their request.


Oversees Firefighting and EMS crews on emergency scenes and ensure the safe and efficient operations of the crew. Responsible for written reports of incidents when applicable.


Fills in as Shift Commander when required, which includes Maintaining attendance logs, coordinating with dispatch when needed, maintaining overtime records, ensuring all daily checks have been preformed across all five stations, ensuring any requests from the Deputy Chief are being preformed, and other pertinent duties of a Shift Commander.


Has performed as Incident Commander for multiple incidents, including a Two Alarm fire at 15 Providence Street on March 26, 2018.


Became the Equipment Lieutenant upon promotion in 2013. Assisted the Captain at that time with the maintenance of all fire equipment across all five stations. Maintained logs and records of equipment including serial numbers and manufacture dates in order to better keep track of equipment. Assisted in the ordering of equipment and writing Purchase Orders. Preformed LDH hose testing and maintained all hose records. Upon the Captain's retirement in January 2015, was the sole officer in charge of equipment until another Captain was assigned later that year.


Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all fire department SCBA's and bottles since being promoted in 2013. Responsibilities include coordinating annual flow testing of all SCBA's and hyrdrotesting of all department bottles every 5 years, ordering parts when needed, and coordinating with Fire Tech & Safety for repairs when needed.


Marine 1 operator with NASBLA training. Responsibilities include operating Marine 1 in maritime emergencies, BOSAR situations, and maritime firefighting. Operates the chart plotter and radar. Oversees boat crew.


Member of the committee for Engine 25 (In service 2016). Duties included the research of upgrades to the engine and new equipment. Assisted the Committee Chair with contract and plan reviews. Was a member of the group that traveled to Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, WI for a mid-build inspection in June 2016. Responsible for the purchase of new equipment for the engine. Assisted with the mounting and loading of equipment to place the engine in service.


Member of the Committee for Ladder 26 (In service 2021). Duties included research into equipment needed in order to combine the ladder truck and the heavy rescue into one NFPA compliant Rescue Ladder. Assisted the Committee Chair with research into the type of aerial that would fit the needs of the department. Researched new equipment and made recommendations for improvements. Assisted the Committee Chair with contract and plan reviews. Was responsible for the purchase of the new equipment. Assisted with the mounting of new equipment.


Member of the Committee for Engine 21 (In service 2019). Member of this committee while simultaneously serving on the Ladder Committee. Duties include the research of upgrades to the engine and new equipment. Assisted the Committee Chair with contract and plan reviews. Responsible for the purchase of the new equipment. Assisted with mounting and loading the equipment in order to place the engine in service.


Received a Letter of Commendation from Fire Chief Michael Small for actions performed on July 2nd, 2017, involving a pediatric patient in cardiac arrest deep in Beebee Woods.






Firefighter/Paramedic

Operated multiple motorized apparatus including multiple fire engines, aerial ladder, heavy rescue, and multiple brush breakers to, at, and from emergency scenes.


Operated as the pump operator at multiple fire scenes.


Operated rescue boats and rescue ATV, including trailering and loading/unloading for rapid deployment.


Utilized skills in firefighting operations such as the use of ground ladders, hose operations, forcible entry, RIT functions, and any potential HAZMAT situation.


Utilized technical skills in operating specialized equipment such as hydraulic rescue tools for extrication, rescue air bags, power saws, and thermal imaging,


Responded to emergency medical calls as a paramedic to perform ALS interventions and other emergency medical services.


Received a Certificate of Commendation on November 5, 2008 for assisting and transporting an injured firefighter at 28 Deer Run Lane on May 17, 2008.
