Work History

Vice Manager/Administrative Manager

Vladoil Malaga S.L.
09.2021 - Current

I graduated from the University of King Juan Carlos in Madrid, Spain in June 2021 and started working for a local gas station company in October of the same year. My position was called "administrative manager" where I mostly took care of day-to-day issues related to the employees, making sure they could do their jobs as efficiently as possible. In October 2023, the company manager took a medical leave and I became the manager myself, substituting him until he returned to work in April, 2024. Now, my position is Vice Manager/Administrative Manager. I oversee a lot of Manager´s responsibilities and am able to substitute him when needed but because of my current Major, Software Engineering, and general interest in everything linked to the IT field, I tend to mostly attend to stuff directly involving technology like selecting the correct server configuration to satisfy our needs and also match the budget outlined by the director among other things like resolving technical issues with the software that is used by the firm that often requires me talking to the IT company that maintains said software and trying to find the best solution possible in the shortest amount of time. Sometimes, I fulfill System Administrator duties even though the company doesn´t have one. For instance, I purchased and later configured signal boosters for our WiFi network that was a bit complicated. I also take care of issues related to OS of the office computers like ensuring the correct drivers are installed or even installing OS on brand new equipment, trouble-shooting issues that may arise after a new Windows update that directly affect the software used by the Manager or the Director.

Historical miniatures, martial arts, sports

I've always loved history. The first book I read right after learning how to read when I was a child was a history book. Later on, in my primary school, I had a history teacher that was an avid tabletop historical and fantasy games fan. He introduced me to the world of historical miniatures, and I've been doing it ever since, assembling historically accurate armies that I hope to put to use one day when I have enough of them and can find like-minded people that would share my passion for tabletop games and history. In fact, due to the miniature market being relatively limited, i.e. one cannot assemble an entire army of any given time period, I decided to explore different options that would allow me to accomplish the task of actually being able to build miniature armies no matter what. This is how I discovered 3D modelling. I began using Blender, an open-source professional 3D modelling software and later fell in love with it and decided to become a generalist 3D artist. I am still learning and moving towards this ambitious goal. At the same time, I encountered another issue that needed a solution. Even though I knew I could learn 3D modelling and digital sculpting to 3D print miniatures, one big problem was for me to find concept art or reference images that would allow me to create 3D models. There aren't many historical images that are also suitable for 3D modelling/digital sculpting. This is how I came to realise that I needed to learn how to draw and create my own concept art to go off of.

As for martial arts and sports, when I was a child, I was bullied at school and on the street by other kids. One day, I decided that I had had enough and joined a mixed martial arts class, KUDO, a Japaneses MMA. After moving to Spain, I carried on practicing different martial arts but eventually decided to pursue grappling and wrestling. I have a solid Judo foundation (a green belt). Unfortunately, I have no Judo schools in my vicinity now but would love to get back to Judo and get my black belt. In the meantime, I've started learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. At the same time, being physically strong and flexible helps a lot when it comes to martial arts, so I practice calisthenics (body-weight exercises), train at a local gym and also try to become more flexible.
