As a Guide for NETA, known in many states as a budtender, I was a licensed and vetted agent of the Massachusetts cannabis control commission that was trained and authorized to dispense cannabis (marijuana) to medical patients and adult use customers over 21. This involved checking government issued photo identification according to responsible vendor training education. Some customers arrive with an order selected but with another customer it might be their first visit or they are wanting some guidance. In that case we do the best we can to orient them to what they are looking for: I usually ask what has worked in the past, what effect are curious about, are they interested in a specific price, etc. Once the sale was determined I would take their payment and provide them with applicable change and their product and receipt.
