As a bilingual Latino aspiring clinical psychologist, my long-term goal is to become a clinician-scientist who advances both research and practice to improve mental health outcomes for children, families, and underserved communities. My research interests center on understanding the neurobiological mechanisms underlying trauma, chronic stress, and resilience, particularly among Latino populations that face significant barriers to culturally responsive mental health care. I am interested in examining how adverse experiences affect brain functioning and development, as well as identifying protective factors, coping strategies, and community-based supports that promote healing and psychological well-being. In addition, I am interested in exploring the role of psychopharmacological interventions and their impact on neurobiological processes associated with trauma and stress-related disorders. Through a combination of rigorous research and clinical practice, I hope to contribute to evidence-based interventions that integrate biological, psychological, familial, and cultural factors. Ultimately, I aim to serve as both a researcher and apracticing clinician, helping expand access to culturally and linguistically responsive mental health services for Latino children, families, and communities.
