Patient admission and discharge
Monitor and maintain airborne, standard, droplet, seizure, and aspiration precautions
Medication administration (PO, IV PICC, IM, SUBQ)
Administer G-tube feedings
Ensures patients’ rights and needs are met and acts as a liaison between families and the healthcare team
Assists in developing individualized care plans for patients based on assessments
Patient education, including fall risk, safety, diabetes, and discharge
Review lab results and notify the doctor of critical values immediately
Interface with doctors to advocate for patients
Identify an emergency situation and respond in a timely manner
New nursing staff training
Perform a thorough head-to-toe assessment and monitor the patient for any change in their condition
Experience in monitoring post-op incisions, diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, and pressure ulcers
Prioritize patient care based on acuity
Interdisciplinary collaboration with therapy, social worker, pharmacy, specialty practice (eg, Orthopedic), and MDS care coordinators
