Artists with Boston Ballet work full-time in the Corps de Ballet with experienced and world-famous choreographers to prepare original and famous works for audiences in Boston. Dancers learn how to collaborate with choreographers, work with each other, share ideas, and adapt to different styles. Consistency and self-discipline are pillars in the life of professional ballet dancers. Dancers learn to be self-aware of their body's needs, both physically and mentally, and daily work to push their limits and continue working, athletically and artistically, to reach their potential.
Boston Ballet II members worked alongside the Boston Ballet main company as understudies, learning tools and skills needed to thrive and be a part of a big ballet company. Boston Ballet II members also had their own repertoire, where they would get the opportunity to work more closely with coaches and have more featured roles in performances throughout the year. Dancers learn skills such as professionalism and discipline while growing their athleticism and artistry.
Studio Company members train in the American Ballet Theatre studios in New York City alongside the ABT main company. Dancers from all over the world were selectively accepted to be a part of a team of six girls and six boys. Dancers trained from 9 am - 5:30 pm, building strength and technique, taking multiple ballet classes a day followed by hours of rehearsal in multiple dance styles with world-famous choreographers and former professional dancers to put together performance material that they tour all over the globe. Dancers are given rigorous training and performance experience that will prepare them for life as a professional dancer.
